Before replacing the voltage regulator, check all connectors and ground points for corrosion and ensure they are securely fastened. Often, the cause of insufficient charging power is not the regulator itself, but rather oxidized contacts, a poor ground connection, or a V-belt that is too loose.

Note: This regulator is intended exclusively for Fiat 124 Spider and 124 Coupé models manufactured through 1978 with external alternator control (terminals 67/15). Vehicles from model year 1979 onward are equipped with an alternator that has a built-in voltage regulator, so this regulator cannot be used in those vehicles.

Tip: The charging voltage is always measured directly at the battery terminals. This is the only way to get a reliable measurement of the alternator’s actual charging power.
